It’s Important To Review Your Sweep!

Think back to the last time you looked up information about a business. Did you check out their past customer reviews? If so, you are not alone! Most people utilize online reviews to learn more about the company they wish to hire and to see whether or not it would be a good fit for their needs.

At Lords Chimney, we encourage you to write reviews, and we love hearing all kinds of feedback, regarding our services. We want to know what you loved about us and what you think we may need improvement on. Customer reviews are what help us grow and thrive as a company, so never feel shy about letting us know what you think!

With that being said, we want your review to be as helpful to us and other potential customers as possible. The Better Business Bureau has a list of tips for writing great reviews. Check out some of their guidelines below!

Be Accurate and Realistic

Be sure to talk about your entire experience and don’t leave out any important details. If things didn’t go well, you can talk about that, but try to stay away from using overdramatic language. Sometimes it feels better to vent out angry rants against a company that gave you trouble, but this does little to help them improve, and the readers won’t take you seriously.

Be realistic – it’s very unlikely that everything aspect of the situation was terrible. You have a right to be upset, but using more subjective words can make it hard for the reader to determine whether or not your review can actually be trusted. A descriptive and honest post – including both the good and the bad – is greatly appreciated by all parties involved.

Leave Out Specifics

Never rant against a specific person in the company. Focusing on who helped (or didn’t help), rather what your actual experience was like, won’t help the people reading your reviews. It can be frustrating when someone was rude to you, but all in all it’s best to be the bigger person and resist the temptation to slam them on a public forum.

Give Yourself the Time You Need

If you are really upset, take a day to let some of your anger pass. If your post is filled with sarcastic and rude comments, it won’t be very helpful to any of the readers, and the company may have trouble discerning what they could work on. On top of that, it’s important to remember that everyone deserves to be spoken to with respect, despite the overall message you are giving them. Be stern, but polite.

Other Tips…

There are a few other things you can do when writing a review. The first is to write a little about yourself and your qualifications. Doing this will help readers discern whether or not your review should be taken seriously or dismissed. It’s also important to look at the situation from the other side before posting. Consider the business’ outlook and make sure you aren’t being harsher than necessary. Lastly, always be sure to spellcheck. Typos and incorrect grammar can turn a good review into a bad one fast.
